Under the RYA training scheme there is a sailing course for everyone from total beginner with Start Yachting and Competent Crew to those with some experience and looking to take charge of their first vessel with Day Skipper and then Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster for advanced levels. The great thing about sailing is that you never stop learning and regardless of ability every student should leave the course having gained new skills and more thorough understanding/ alternative methods of performing key skills.
Theory courses: Day Skipper, Coastal / Yachtmaster, VHF radio operators licence.

International Certificate of Competence - ICC
The ICC is widely accepted throughout Spain as proof of competence by the holder. Spanish certification is very different to the RYA and ASA sail training schemes, as such it can cause confusion with some of the authorities. The ICC is available from any RYA recognised training centre, holders of the Day Skipper, Coastal or Yachtmaster Certificates can apply directly to the RYA quoting their membership number for a FREE certificate.
